Working Principle 1. The pump is driven by the engine’s crankshaft via a rubber belt – as the engine runs, the pump shaft and impeller rotate at proportional speed
2. Rotating impeller blades create low pressure at the pump’s inlet (connected to the radiator’s lower tank), drawing cooled coolant into the pump housing
3. Centrifugal force flings coolant outward to the pump’s outlet (connected to the engine block/cylinder head), forcing it through engine coolant passages
4. Coolant absorbs heat from the engine, then flows to the radiator to dissipate heat, before returning to the pump inlet to repeat the cycle
5. The mechanical seal prevents coolant from leaking around the rotating shaft, while the sealed bearing reduces friction and wear
Core Functions 1. Coolant Circulation: Forces coolant through the engine block, cylinder head, and radiator – ensures uniform heat distribution and rapid heat removal
2. Temperature Regulation: Maintains Kubota engine at optimal operating temperature (80–95°C/176–203°F) – prevents overheating, reduces wear on pistons/bearings, and optimizes fuel efficiency
3. Leak Prevention: Mechanical seal and gaskets eliminate coolant loss, avoiding engine damage from low coolant levels
4. Compatibility: Integrates with the engine’s thermostat (which controls coolant flow to the radiator) to adjust cooling based on engine load/temperature
