• Function

1.Force Transmission: The piston bears the pressure generated by the combustion of fuel and air in the cylinder. This pressure pushes the piston downward, and through the piston pin and connecting rod, the force is transmitted to the crankshaft, converting the linear motion of the piston into the rotational motion of the crankshaft, which ultimately powers the vehicle or equipment.

2.Sealing: The piston, along with the piston rings, creates a seal within the cylinder to prevent the leakage of high - pressure gases from the combustion chamber. This ensures that the maximum amount of force is generated by the combustion process and that the engine operates efficiently.
